Few years back, my life took a u turn and i enterd into wedlock, it seemed like a dream to me. Love was in the air(it still is) but soon an angel rushed into our life and the equation changed completely, i became a mother and it was then that i realised what it means to be blessed.
Being a mother is the most precious gift of the creator.
My HYATT now revolves around my darling preschooler( she kept me too busy as an infant, so these posts come after she has started attending playschool.) This blog is my experience as a mother, the ups n downs, the challenges, the fun. as she grows older, i grow as a mother aswell and with us grows my dreams and aspirations and a long list of expectations.
I want her to look this way and she wants to look the other way. When i want her to eat she would want to play and when i want her to sleep she definately wants to eat. i am sure every mom would second me on this. Every day you need a different master plan to succeed these little ones, if you smart them they are sure to over smart you and fail your genuis master plan for the day.
For mordern day mothers like us, internet comes as a life saver and for any problem big or small we turn to the online buzz for our answers.
Sometimes the internet is a boon but there are instances when it only adds up to our confusion and misleads us. specially when our kids fall sick, we try to become doctors and come to judgemnets merely by reading and conrelating( i am a big culprit of this phenomenon).
So heres a quick guide on what to do when your world has suddenly stopped moving and your otherwise chirpy little one is weary and down with an illness.
$ Yes we should look for help on the internet: but not rely on it completely you can not be a doctor unless you have qualified to be one, so be a responsible mother and take your child to a good doctor.
$ Follow the grannys in this situation their experience makes a whole lot of difference and adds to our moral support( though we feel their ideas to be very outdated)
$Home remedies works wonders: Look for home remedies online and see if they do any good to your child, if the condition improves, good but if it doesnt consult your doctor.
$ Nourishment is important: Give them nutritous simple meals and dont foget to add fruits to it, avoid outside food and keep them away from anything with preservatives.
$ Only follow whatbis right: For first time moms things get very tricky and difficult to tackle due to lack of experience and a dozen free advices from all aunt susans who tend to worry more for your kid than you do. So skip all these free advices and stick to what your doctor says. Follow his action plan. And do not deprive your baby of anything merely because others have asked you to.( this lesson i have learnt from my past incidents).
$ Make your child happy: do not discuss any thing about his disease or problem in front of him, always encourage and say you will be alright soon, you are a strong kid,we will together kick off that cough, pain etc. This would give positive energy to your kid and help them get well soon and stay happy .
$ Be their best freind: play with them : falling sick generally keeps one home depriving you naughty devils from having all the fun.so you play with them, do things they love to do, giving them the required rest and taking their complete care and take all efforts to keep their mood uplifted.
$ Question them to figure out the problem: Toddlers are too small to express what they feel completely, they might use wrong gestures or wrong info (for e.g if they have a chest ache they would say they have a pain in their tummy because they fail to differntiate. ) so you should calmly and slowly and try to bring out from them what actually is their problem. The easiest way to do so is by asking small and simpke questions. But keep in mind you dont have to scare your baby just dig out their problem.
$ The after care: onve you little angel is back on track your world also starts moving in fast swing but at this time you have to remeber that there is always a small percentage of infection left or the weakness, so dont ignore that and even agter the doctor has given a green signal you take a while more and be a little precautious unless the kid is healthy enough .
I had cut off from writing for the last 4 years, so this post might seem a little abrupt and unruly. But i a sure to come back with more and better soon.
Till then happy parenting!!!!
